ABSTRAK
Emesis gravidarum merupakan keluhan yang sering dialami oleh ibu hamil pada trimester pertama. Menurut WHO, sekitar 14% wanita hamil mengalami emesis gravidarum. Laporan Kemenkes 2019 menunjukkan proporsi ibu dengan riwayat emesis gravidarum sebesar 67,9%. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian aromaterapi peppermint terhadap frekuensi emesis gravidarum pada ibu hamil trimester I di PMB Umil Fahmi Kota Padang Tahun 2024.
Jenis penelitian ini one group pre-post test desain. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari tanggal 5 Juni – 30 Juli, populasi pada penelitian ini semua ibu hamil trimester I yang mengalami mual muntah sejumlah 54 orang, dengan sampel 30 orang. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kusioner. Analisa data dilakukan secara univariat dan bivariat dengan uji Wilcoxon.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata skor emesis gravidarum pada ibu hamil trimester I sebelum dan sesudah pemberian aromaterapi Peppermint yaitu 7,70 dan 5,97. Secara uji statistik didapatkan ada pengaruh pemberian aromaterapi peppermint terhadap frekuensi emesis gravidarum pada ibu hamil trimester I p-value = 0,000.
Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pemberian aromaterapi peppermint terhadap penurunan frekuensi emesis gravidarum pada ibu hamil trimester I di PMB Umil Fahmi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini diharapkan kepada petugas kesehatan untuk menjadikan sebagai salah satu referensi terapi non-farmakologi untuk membantu mengurangi emesis gravidarum.

The Effect of Peppermint Aromatherapy on the Frequency of Emesis Gravidarum in First Trimester Pregnant Women at PMB Umil Fahmi Padang City Year 2024

ABSTRACT
Nausea and vomiting in pregnancy (Emesis gravidarum) is a common complaint experienced by pregnant women during the first trimester. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 14% of pregnant women experience emesis gravidarum. The 2019 Ministry of Health report indicates that the proportion of mothers with a history of emesis gravidarum is 67.9%. This study aims to determine the effect of peppermint aromatherapy on the frequency of emesis gravidarum in first-trimester pregnant women at PMB Umil Fahmi, Padang City, in 2024.
This research utilizes a one-group pre-post test design. The study population includes all first-trimester pregnant women experiencing nausea and vomiting, totaling 54, with a sample size of 30 participants. The sample was selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis with the Wilcoxon test.
The results indicate that the average score of emesis gravidarum in first-trimester pregnant women before and after administering peppermint aromatherapy was 7.70 and 5.97, respectively. The statistical test showed a significant effect of peppermint aromatherapy on the frequency of emesis gravidarum in first-trimester pregnant women, with a p-value = 0.000.
In conclusion, peppermint aromatherapy has a significant impact on reducing the frequency of emesis gravidarum in first-trimester pregnant women at PMB Umil Fahmi. Based on these findings, it is recommended that healthcare professionals consider it as a non-pharmacological therapy to help alleviate emesis gravidarum.
